Today HSBC and subsidiary First Direct have joined the Apple Pay party. As of this morning customers have sucessfully been able to link their credit and debit cards to the service. It’s not all been plain sailing though, with some customers reporting problems activating their cards.
On Twitter, some users have reported security checks while using their HSBC card for the first time, while others have expressed frustration at HSBC’s lack of Apple Pay support for business cards. HSBC are not alone in their lack of support for business cards; Santander are the only bank offering this, and just to their small business customers.
Others still are just frustrated that their bank was not one of the launch partners as promised when Apple Pay was announced in the UK.
Still, the wait is over. If you’re a HSBC or First Direct customer, have a look at our retailer support page to find out where you can spend your money. If you have something to add, let me know on Twitter!
